This is a voluntary program designed to help families expedite resolution of their cases currently pending in North Carolina Family Court.

The impact of COVID-19 on the court system has resulted in extraordinarily lengthy processing times and unprecedented delays, since even after “re-opening,” our courts are only able to operate at limited capacity. As you have likely experienced, very few cases have been scheduled for hearing, leaving many families like yours stuck in limbo. And based on what we are hearing from court officials, things aren’t going to get moving much faster any time soon.

The Carpool Lane Program was designed by a team of North Carolina Collaborative Family Lawyers who want to help get cases moving towards resolution. We have designed a new option to fast track family law cases for parents and separating spouses who are willing to try a different approach.
